Biking or Hiking Trails

Get your heart pumping on thrilling hilly or twisty paths through the extensive parks of Marietta. With Kennesaw Mountain, Sope Creek Mountain Trail, Pigeon Hill Trail Head, Noonday Creek Multi-Use Trail, A.L. Burruss Park, and Chattahoochee River National Park all within minutes from downtown Marietta. 

Rent a bike from the parking lot on Old 41 at Kennesaw Mountain and ride it along the Mountain to River Trail through downtown. Check out Marietta’s most-loved outdoor attractions for running, hiking, and biking.

Shoot the Hooch

Spend the day on the water. The scenic Chattahoochee River is a favorite outdoor recreational attraction for residents and visitors to the area. The most popular place to paddle or “Shoot the Hooch”- tube or kayak the Chattahoochee- near Marietta is the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area.

Bring your own tube or kayak; or rent from Nantahala Outdoor Center. Enter the river at Johnson Ferry for a scenic six mile ride down the Chattahoochee to Paces Mill.

Axe Throwing

Want to try a new skill? What about axe throwing? It’s a hot fun activity that’s found its way out of Canadian woods and into urban communities. Challenge your family and friends to see who can get the most points at one of Marietta’s prime throwing locations, American Axes or Ironmonger Axe Throwing. Don’t worry if you’ve never handled an axe. Trained coaches will teach you the basics. 

While you’re there, grab a beer at Schoolhouse Brewing in the same complex as American Axe; or inside the taproom at Ironmonger.

Indoor Karting

Do you feel the need for speed? Experience the adrenaline rush at Andretti Indoor Karting & Games on Roswell Road, as you zip around their indoor tracks in electric go-karts at speeds of up to 40mph.
