Metropolis (1927) Silent Film with Live Organ Accompaniment

March 12, 2022 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Together in partnership with the American Theatre Organ Society, The Strand will screen Fritz Lang’s 1927 silent film classic Metropolis on Saturday, March 14 at 7:30pm. Metropolis will be accompanied live on the Mighty Allen Theatre Organ by featured artist Clark Wilson, one of the most prominent and recognized scorers of silent photoplays in America.

Metropolis is regarded as the pioneering work of the science fiction genre in film. This 2010 restoration is the definitive edition of Fritz Lang’s science fiction masterpiece, including more than 25 minutes of additional footage once thought to be lost forever. Set in the dystopic, 21st century city of Metropolis, the film follows unlikely lovers Freder and Maria as they fight to bridge the gap between Metropolis’ wealthy elite and working class.

VIP Tickets include 5:45 PM meet & greet, small popcorn and beverage of your choice.
