Join us as we commemorate Juneteenth, an annual celebration of the emancipation of the last remaining enslaved African Americans in the U.S. in June 1865. The day will include guided museum tours, living history demonstrations, poetry readings, and more. We will also be unveiling a new garden sculpture dedicated to the many enslaved people who lived in Marietta prior to the end of the Civil War whose names were not recorded and are now lost to time. The unveiling will take place in the courtyard near the Root House Visitor Center.
We are pleased to offer FREE ADMISSION to this program thanks to the generous support of Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby’s International Realty (Cobb Office).
