31 Mar A Guide to Spring Festival Season in Marietta
Marietta plays host to many crowd-pleasing events throughout the year. Festival season kicks off in spring with a lineup that will leave your mouth watering, your eyes bright and your ears perked. Use this guide to learn about some of the best Marietta events of the year.
Taste of Marietta
Put down Yelp and stop reading restaurant reviews. The 27th annual Taste of Marietta is the perfect opportunity to get your own taste of what Cobb County has to offer. After you’ve stopped at a few of the food vendors, you will walk away with an inspired food bucket list. Every delicious dish ranges in price from $1-$5, so every visitor will have room to taste a variety of local cuisine. In addition to amazing food, the day will include live music, kids’ entertainment, and beverage stations. This year’s event will take place on Sunday, April 24th, 2022, from 11am-7pm in the historic Marietta Square. Did we mention that the festival is completely free to enter? Don’t miss Cobb County’s largest and longest-running food festival.
There is no better way to walk into May than with two full days of arts, crafts, and music in the Marietta Square. May-Retta Daze is an annual festival held the first weekend of May that features exhibitors and artists showcasing handmade goods. You can find anything from painting, pottery, woodwork, metal, glass, fabric, soap, candles and more. Enjoy all of this while taking in memorable, live performances from various local artists. 2022 May-Retta Daze will be held on April 30th(10am-9pm) & May 1st(11am-5pm). This event will also include food vendors and a kid’s zone.
Marietta has a commitment to ongoing improvement and beautification. The 2022 M2R TrailFest is the perfect example of such commitment. Hosted by the Marietta Arts Council, M2R TrailFest is an annual debut of numerous public art installations along the Mountain to River Trail and in public parks. Many residents and visitors walk, jog, and bike the M2R Trail throughout the year. With all the beautiful, large-scale murals and Art Drops presented by TrailFest, who could blame them? The Marietta art scene is vibrant and inviting. The event includes dance, singing, music, interactive art and so much more for all ages. Currently, the 2022 calls for art are live for Trailfest.
Summer Concert Kickoff
Returning to the Marietta Square is the ever popular Glover Park Summer Concert Series. On the last Friday of every month from April to September, amazing talent fills Glover Park. These concerts are free for all to attend, but tables can be purchased for an elevated experience. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs and dancing shoes. Each concert starts at 8pm and features a variety of sounds including R&B, Pop, Beach, and Country. Also returning in May is the Brown Bag Lunch Concert Series. Every Thursday in May, from Noon-1pm, free music will fill the Marietta Square. Grab lunch at one of many, great Marietta establishments and enjoy a musical lunch break. The Brown Bag Concerts will return for the month of September as well.
